Child Safety and Supervised Account Standards — DoggyRadar
Effective Date: September 1, 2026
Document Version: 4.0.0
1. Minor Protection Principles (GDPR Art. 8)
- DoggyRadar applies enhanced privacy and safety standards for minors pursuant to GDPR Article 8.
- Independent account registration is restricted to individuals aged 16 and older.
- Minors under 16 may use the service only via a Supervised Account authorized by a parent or legal guardian.
2. Supervised Account Architecture and Data Minimization
- Synthetic Child Email:
- Minors do not provide their personal email address. The system assigns a synthetic identifier: `child-<uuid>@supervised.doggyradar.local`.
- Guardian Consent Verification:
- Guardian consent is verified via authenticated sessions with MFA or email double opt-in.
- Detailed consent evidence trails are recorded (scope, policy version, timestamp, IP, User-Agent). The app does not conduct official state identity registry checks.
- Mandatory Ghost Mode:
- Accounts under 16 have Ghost Mode activated based on registered birth date. Exact child coordinates are hidden from the public map and visible only to authorized legal guardians.
- Zero Advertising and No Profiling:
- Supervised accounts are excluded from Google AdMob advertising, marketing tracking, and profiling.
3. Account Lifecycle and Consent Withdrawal
- Guardians may update or withdraw consent at any time.
- Consent withdrawal immediately locks the supervised account, halts active walks, enables Ghost Mode, and schedules deletion after a 7-day grace period (`deletion_pending`).
